A New Year - But What If?

Our lives are lived day-to-day...some days seem better than others. But what if?
Just think about what we have seen in our lives up to now. God never changes.

Romans 8:37-39
No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Summer beauty --- God's canvas

While I did not take this picture, thus I cannot display it here, the beauty is truly a spectacular view of one of GOD's greatest wonders here in California! So click on the link and go visit it in Picasa.

Living within 160 miles, there really is no excuse for not visiting this natural wonder more often. Thanks GOD for making our world so amazing and thank you Britt Peterson for taking this photo. We are blessed with enjoying your creative eye.

Have a wonderful summer! Be BLESSED!

Discovery - into Space for the last time

We live in exciting times. NASA has accomplished so much with its work in the space program. In fact, most of us either do not consider the incredible authority we hold to manage data, physics and the unknown each time a shuttle was launched from Cape Canaveral or we awaited the failure like so many NASCAR fans, waiting for another Big One.

I for one grew up with NASA doing the impossible.

I remember seeing Echo 1 as it circled the earth and we could actually watch it arc across the horizon, a moving star to my 9 year old eyes.

Incredible.

Amazing.

Wonderful.

and yet, still only permitted by the watchful eye of the Creator. He has allowed us to delve into His libraary of secrets in so many of the Dewey-classified disciplines. We have written books about our knowledge and we have modified the way we live exponentially over the generations of the Scientific Revolution.

I am grateful that GOD allowed us to change the way we live. But I still want nothing more than to live under the watchful eye and protective umbrella of His love. The Psalmist told us long ago that we owe Him our every breath. I do not want to change that. I want to live under the authority of a loving Father who allows us to run and jump and play but doesn't let us go beyond His care. I hope you too feel that GOD is ONE who is trustworthy of your love and trust and submission.

The truth revealed in a prophetic statement long ago, "Every knee will bow, every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord" is still the hope I long for and Joshua's proclamation "As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord" is relevant to every morning I awake.

As I gaze up into the skies, I know so little of the grandeur of the laws that make up what I enjoy in the morning, noon and evenings of my life but I am so incredibly grateful for the One that holds it all together with His word.

Have a Blessed Day!

Listen to the heart of these words by Sara Groves

I love considering deep thoughts shared by others in a truly graphic way...

One cannot escape the message when it is presented in this manner...one way or another, we need to consider the truth of the issue and how it applies to our lives...enjoy!

Sara on her Spiritual Buffalo...

There is a scene in the movie Dances with Wolves where the Sioux are on a much anticipated buffalo hunt. As they come up over a hill, they are shocked to see a field full of buffalo carcasses. The tragedy of that moment is that where the Sioux use every piece of the buffalo—the bladder holds water, the bone makes a tool, the skin is a covering for a tent- whoever has done this has taken the best part of the buffalo for himself and has left everything else to waste. There is no way to make good use of all that is lying in this field.

I was so convicted when I went to Africa that I am not using all of my spiritual buffalo. I have developed this one side of my personal relationship with God. I go to church, I have incredible worship, and I listen to incredible speakers. I have money to buy devotionals, and leisure time to do those devotionals. I have spent a lifetime grooming a personal faith in Christ, but have I been taking the best piece of the buffalo for myself? There has been a joy in discovering the good use of my life. There is a reciprocal redemption that happens when we enter into stories of helping our neighbor—not just around the world, but in our own communities. When I came home from Africa, instead of feeling guilty for my life, I began to hear God in a very clear way say, ‘that thing carries water, that thing makes a tool, that is covering for a tent.’ There is a beauty to the good use of a life, and to the acknowledgment that everything you have and do has a Kingdom purpose.

Logan, the Sky Angel Cowboy!

I recently came across this in a web-scurry...yes, sort of like what mice do when they know they are looking for food but don't exactly know what or where they will find it...well, this is a nice big piece of cheese that I emailed out to my friends immediately. It speaks a truth I have found personally true and incredibly helpful to my life. I hope Logan's message and Frank's posting it on YouTube will be helpful to you at Christmas. I know pain does a lot of awful things to people and hope is the first solution to any problem.

Merry Christmas from THE VILLAGE SMITHY and his family.

(A Frank Lozano Production) We have had a lot of requests to replay the phone call that Pastor Mike shared during our church service on Sunday, Nov. 11th, 2007.

Here you'll find the video clip that was created just for you. We've placed the video on YouTube so that you can watch it and share with family and friends.

Logan is a 13 year-old boy who lives on a ranch in a very small town in Nebraska. Logan listens to Christian Radio station 89.3FM KSBJ which broadcasts from Houston, TX. Logan called the radio station distraught because he had to take down a calf . His words have wisdom beyond his years.

Since airing the audio of the phone call and now the making of the video clip, it has taken on a life of its own. People are forwarding it all over the world. We encourage you to share the love of Christ with anyone you can.

(**Sky Angel is a family safe broadcasting service that is offered on satellite. KSBJ is a local Houston Christian music radio station. Video clip produced with love by www.FrankLozano.com Hear the entire message at www.ValenciaHills.com)

12 year old Logan Henderson is known as the Sky Angel Cowboy because he listens to his favorite morning radio show on KSBJ in Houston, via Sky Angel Satellite from his home on a ranch in Nebraska. Feeling badly because he had to "take down" a calf, he called the morning show to share his feelings with the show's compassionate host, Mike Kanfelfrtitz. From this young boy comes a powerful message that has been forwarded to thousands around world.

A Message from Logan's Mom

I am Logan’s Mom………I don’t know how many come back to read these after they have blogged but I thought it was time to thank so many of you for the love and acceptance of my son’s heart. It truly was a work of God and it has increased Logan’s faith and brought healing to his heart in more ways than one!! We appreciate your prayers so much. We praise God that this message from Him has brought hope and healing to many of you. Our God is truly an awesome God. May His works continue to go forth through KSBJ, in Jesus name.

Yes, we look forward to what God has in store for Logan. We have known for some time that God has given him a gift of communicating to people’s hearts. We saw signs of it even as a little boy. We homeschool our children and truly enjoy our time with Logan and his sister Erica who is 9.

So, thank you to all of you for your loving responses to a young man’s growing heart. Your prayers have reaped more than you know and will continue to reap heavenly power in this lost and dying world. Praise be to our everlasting Father God in all this!!

With all my love and thanks,
Tee Jay Henderson

When I Say I Am a Christian

When I am weak, He is strong. When I cannot, He always can. This is what is meant to be a Christian. Without Him, we are nothing. But that is okay, because He promises to be E V E R Y T H I N G ! ! !

This is a great poem that describes the relationship each of us can have with our Savior. Set to music by a veoh.com publisher.

Happy Labor Day... to each of you in whatever you do...THANKS!

Happy Labor Day!

There are many times in the year that we celebrate. This day is set apart to appreciate the efforts of many hard working Americans and the contributions each has made to a lifestyle unmatched by any other country or age in history. It is also to celebrate the American Dream. The mural done on a local grocery store wall illustrates one intrepretation by former Hollister resident Ronald Rocha. Hard work and meeting the needs of others has its unmatched rewards!

THANK YOU ALL for what you have given of yourselves to enrich the lives of others.

As you enjoy the day, here are a couple of quotes that make today make even more sense. Be blessed!

1 Corinthians 10:31: " So whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God."

"The purpose of life is to serve and to show compassion and the will to help others. Only then have we ourselves become true human beings." Albert Schweitzer
