Happy New Year!! 2010 is just around the corner...

Happy New Year!!, originally uploaded by roos4sanne.

Is it cold or warm where you are as you wrap up the old year and prepare for the New Year?

Goals, expectations, preparations, resolutions...

Yep, time to think about what needs to change and what needs to stay the same...

CONSIDER THIS:

“Nothing worth doing is completed in our lifetime; therefore we must be saved by hope. Nothing true or beautiful makes complete sense in any immediate context of history; therefore we must be saved by faith. Nothing we do, however virtuous, can be accomplished alone; therefore, we are saved by love."
Reinhold Niebuhr, American theologian, 1892-1971

The countdown is on!

Well, another year is almost done...did you see what Time Square is doing for the third year? Good Riddance Shredder wipes out all the records of a painful year....hopefully yours was not too bad.

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE! 2010 is almost here.

ESSO TIGER

ESSO TIGER, originally uploaded by Robert Lz.

I just read this about one of the great logo/mascots...and its trademark catchphrase and it was created by another 'Emery Smith':

Esso Tiger - Orange jungle cat with black stripes who represented Esso Oil in the mid-1960s with his trademark catchphrase "Put a tiger in your tank" (created by Chicago copywriter Emery Smith at McCann-Erickson, 1964). The Esso Tiger, first used by Humble Oil, a division of Esso, was originally a friendly and lovable feline akin to A. A. Milne's "Tigger." Later in the campaign, however, the Esso tiger's amiable persona became more ferocious, and energetic to reflect the power and punch of their gasoline products. The success of the ad campaign prompted Time magazine to proclaim 1964 as "The Year of the Tiger along Madison Avenue." The Esso Tiger was retired in the late 1960s but resurrected in 1972 when Esso changed its name to Exxon. Their ad slogan stated "We're changing our name, but not our stripes!"

love = life

175/365, originally uploaded by _mandrew_.

His name is Jesus. Do you know Him? If you do, then you know a secret reserved for searchers. Gold is rarely found on the surface, it needs to be mined. We all know our need for love. Have you ever wondered where is its source? In the Heavenlies before time began when Father, Son and Spirit had a conversation. Each deeply cared for the other and they said, "Let us make man in our image." After doing so, they said, "It is very good!"

Yes love = life. The greatest gift GOD could give to us...with all of Their heart.

Highspeed water... or the joy of life in a moment

Highspeed water, originally uploaded by DailyM = eF-eM + JeeeM.

What we can see when time is slowed down! Beauty is all around us and occurs at such a high rate of speed that without the ability to take a snapshot of time, we only see the blur of life.

This Christmas, ask GOD for the ability to observe much around you...beauty, joy, love, devotion.

These are but a few of the treasures of GOD'S Creation designed for our enjoyment.

Be BLESSED!

Playing with shadows

Playing with shadows, originally uploaded by -Travel Man-.

Looking at this beautiful white sand reminds me how transformational God make us when we saves us.

Psalm 51 (The Message)

7-15 Soak me in your laundry and I'll come out clean,
scrub me and I'll have a snow-white life.
Tune me in to foot-tapping songs,
set these once-broken bones to dancing.
Don't look too close for blemishes,
give me a clean bill of health.
God, make a fresh start in me,
shape a Genesis week from the chaos of my life.
Don't throw me out with the trash,
or fail to breathe holiness in me.
Bring me back from gray exile,
put a fresh wind in my sails!
Give me a job teaching rebels your ways
so the lost can find their way home.
Commute my death sentence, God, my salvation God,
and I'll sing anthems to your life-giving ways.
Unbutton my lips, dear God;
I'll let loose with your praise.

Do you have a quiet 'getaway place' to be silent before the Lord? Water and calm breezes take me there...that place of satisfaction where my first thought is to drink in a deep satisfying breath, smile and let it all out in a deep relaxation release.

Have a great day meditating with Him...He has great things to share with you.

...and by the way, you ARE His favorite child. Be BLESSED!

Standing Watch

Standing Watch, originally uploaded by Kevin MacLeod.

Day in and day out, the sun illuminates our skies. Often due to weather we cannot see it is there. Cloud cover obscures but we know that it is still there.

Just like the Son. Whether we perceive He is in our lives, He alone provides His light, His love, and his provision.

The world we live in is a spectacular one. Technology has taken us so far beyond our imaginations of even a few decades ago.

But nothing can compare with the glory of the world created by Father GOD. He created a masterpiece! Even with the presence of sin, the world is a world beyond compare.

This photo is an expression of this beautiful place we call home...at least for now.

Pondering Futility

Pondering Futility, originally uploaded by Philosopher Queen.

is this the solution to planning for our future?

Naaah, GOD is far more able to plan out our lives with a plan and a purpose...without the headaches and eyestrain and smoky rooms.

"For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope." Jeremiah 29:11 (New Living Translation)

this is not the pond you came from

_DSC9983-Web, originally uploaded by Bimo Marwoto.

while this is definitely a beautiful pond with some rather mystical qualities, it is not the source of all life...

we were created in the image of GOD our Father and not just pond slime.

You are beautiful!

macro art

I so love the artistic quality of rust! It is annoying to anything that is supposed to actually move like a rusty nut on rusty threads. There is no patina quite like the one metal gets as it oxidizes.

Do you think we look that way to GOD as we weather the storms that liberate us from the perfection of new shiny metal? I think so.

I think He loves the wrinkles, laugh lines, sags and bulges where there once was none...it shows process.

lantern festival in motion

and the prayers just keep ascending to the King. Cool!

Prayers in lanterns on the water

Have you ever wondered what your prayers might look like to GOD? Well, there are several places in Scripture that describe His listening...but I like this visual.

From the Throne flows a river, River of Grace, these lanterns are our prayers flowing to the King....hmmm, how does that happen...moving upstream?

Well, we only see things rule by natural laws...and His Kingdom operates by Supernatural Laws. Cool!

dry ice...sure does look like it!

dry ice, originally uploaded by stuck on the rock.

Standing on firm rocks has solid places for standing...but isn't this picture intriguing? In the 'dry ice' there is such a strong element of unknowing...what is below?

You cannot know until the fog fades away...but you can still stand firmly on the Rock. He knows what you cannot.

The door is open and light is coming in...

Revelation 3:20 (The Message)

20-21"Look at me. I stand at the door. I knock. If you hear me call and open the door, I'll come right in and sit down to supper with you. Conquerors will sit alongside me at the head table, just as I, having conquered, took the place of honor at the side of my Father. That's my gift to the conquerors!

Did you ever realize this invitation is to you as a guest of honor? GOD wants to have dinner with you. This is AWESOME! Don't miss it for anything!!!

Moonlight Serenade . . .

Moonlight Serenade . . ., originally uploaded by billbalance.

Bill Dan, an artist who can see balance in rocks with an uncanny skill and patience.

Do you see an ability you share?

Bill hears the rocks balance point which is constantly changing as other rocks are balanced upon it.

You constantly change your balance as friends and associates around you are included into your world.

But there is a wonderful fact that comes in this observation. GOD alone created the rocks, the physics and all the forces acting upon each rock. He is the source of all balance.

last days of the Bush administration

I am a Republican. I am proud of my President. President George W Bush did an amazing job as president starting with 9/11. Homeland Security was a great priority and a great inconvenience but he led with integrity and emotion. Naysayers are prolific as with every administration, but George W Bush will be remembered in history as one who did what he was elected to do....what you saw is what you got....I am a fan of transparency in leadership...for that he excelled. Mistakes? Yeah, sure...don't we all wish for do-overs?
I am glad he was the highest official of our great country for the past eight years.
I for one will miss you President George W Bush! Godspeed as you reenter the life we all take so for granted...as citizens of this great United States.
