Ode to the Olive Tree

Ode to the Olive Tree, originally uploaded by magic fly paula.

From the gnarly old trees weathered over the years come the olive, pressed into a beneficial oil.

I think of the verse that talks about changing mourning into gladness.

This is what God gives from the experiences of life. The question is will we submit to the weathering process...

Fruit of the Spirit

Fruit of the Spirit, originally uploaded by loswl.

My wife loves cherries. Something about their sweetness, color and their contrast to the green leaves...just beautiful.

We are the same for GOD. We are meant to be a blessing every day for Him.

Enjoy the last day of summer....as we go into Fall beholding all of His glory.

Be blessed today!

Eternity Echoes What We Do In Life

The artist, Kyle Steed, writes,

"The main focus of the poster are two vector shapes I created that are meant to represent eternity. The purpose for using two eternal symbols as opposed to only one is how we are able to have an eternal perspective on this earth before dying and living an eternal life in Heaven. And how those two overlap sometimes."

What is your view of eternity? Do you have one? GOD gives you one if you will seek it...

Be blessed today!

Sunflowers!

Sunflowers!, originally uploaded by ILina S.

When the Son shines, what do you do?

Are you able to be a reflection of the beauty of GOD and transmit that glory outward, sharing it with a world that is increasingly dark?

Don't be sad or downcast if you cannot...just get out the windowcleaner, the Word of GOD and read and heed the instructions the Holy Spirit has been wanting to share with you.

Each of us have a beauty to share....let it out! The world needs it so much. Remember, it is not how big or important or even so seemingly perfect we appear that is important. The beauty of the sunflower of the large one in the front is accented by the choir surrounding it just as in your life.

Whether a background or lead singer, share your beauty through your expression to GOD and the world.

BE BLESSED TODAY!

Seagull in Normandy

Seagull in Normandy, originally uploaded by 5348 Franco.

Isn't this a fabulous picture?

What amazes me as one living by the coast is how dirty and odd the seagull community is...have you ever seen a pier covered with the evidence that a seagull had 'splatted' from above? It definitely adds a patina to the wood!

And yet, watching a gull surfing the air waves above is so effortless and often majestic, that it takes on a majestic quality that can take your breath away.

Years ago, my wife and I read the book Jonathan Livingston Seagull, by Richard Bach. It was cute and clever and oh, so anthropomorphic!

When GOD made this earth recorded in Genesis, He said a wonderful thing...He created each to be after its own kind. That clearly states a quality each of us can see throughout the Creation....each tree, bird, plant, whatever, follows its own DNA to determine what it would be as it lived life.

GOD created each of us in His image. Some of us get that. Some of us get transfixed by the living of this life and its details....the workaholic, the fun-seeker, the adrenaline junky, the lazy.

The ability to create, to become a new creation, that is what GOD has given as a very great gift. To worship Him, that is a gift of creating an expression of ourselves worthy to share with our Father.

Yes, we make mistakes...our splats add to the patina of this world too. Often it is just as messy and yucky as the seagulls, but nevertheless, GOD makes it part of His beauty as we allow ourselves to be yielded to His destiny and purpose for each of us.

We are part of GOD's majestic design....abundant life for each of us for eternity with Him.

Let's all get there...we can...as we yield our hearts to His and receive His gift of Jesus as our Savior.

Have a blessed day!

the Bible...a gift of Great Consequence

the_bible, originally uploaded by Brent Nelson.

Some books are fun to read.
Some books are hard to read.
Some books are worth the read.

Some books must be read.

ONE BOOK GIVES THE GIFT OF LIFE...Can you afford not to read, listen and follow this one...The BIBLE...the Word of GOD?

Friendly Swim

In all our ways we find GOD watching and guiding us where we need to go....even when we are disobedient!

Remember you gotta SERVE somebody...make it the right ONE...He gives Himself, Abundant Life, and Eternity with Him....is there a better offer? I think not.....but if you have found one....how is it working for you?

Are the gifts of Faith, Hope, Love, Joy, Long-Suffering, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Gentleness, Self-Control part of your life?

We all blow it, but with repentance and listening comes more than this....THINKABOUTIT!

I love you! And GOD loves you more...infinity plus ONE!

A cool poem for those who serve us...

Face Behind

the Counter

The face behind the counter

paints a portrait very clear

This life which God created

Has real hopes, real hurts, and fears

Will I take a moment

From the pressing day ahead

And listen to God's Spirit

To serve a soul that might need fed

I see within their eyes

The need for something true

Will I let them see my faith

By what I say and do

Can I spare a tiny piece

From life's giant block of time

Will I take these seconds given

And from my own world, choose to climb

A chance to be a blessing

A chance to show some grace

With hope, they just might see

A glimpse of Jesus' face.
